I've started hiking this year, as an alternative to the joint-pounding activity of running, at least by itself.

A contemplative evening on the Manassas Battlefield, Virginia.
Just north of Great Falls is Riverbend Park.
The Potomac Heritage Trail connects both along this historic river.
